My sketchbooks house an ever expanding library of ideas which cover all bodies of work, some of which are realised, but most are stored and revisited at a later date; when a skill needed has been learnt or material or medium has become available. The books are A6 in size so that they can be transported with ease. Although a large amount of the ideas/work within them starts life as a thought or a small scale drawing/scribble on anything that it is at hand; envelopes, shopping lists or newspapers, these ideas are then expanded or stored within the books. As well as acting as a depository and periodical for all the bodies of work the books also serve as a collection point for detritus which is purely of interest aesthetic or otherwise.
